This handsome Pirate Cutlass features a 23 3/8-inch blade with full hand
protection. The shorter length and weightiness of the cutlass was preferable for fighting in the close-quarters
found aboard ships. It has a large, polished solid brass basket and a hand-sewn leather grip with chrome plated
brass. The high carbon steel blade measures 1 3/4 inches wide and 3/16 inch thick at the hilt.
The overall length of the cutlass is 29 1/2 inches and it weighs a solid 3 pounds, 2 ounces. We can custom
engrave either side of the blade with up to five lines of text. The leather scabbard weighs an additional

Generally regarded as a pirate weapon, the cutlass was actually issued to the Naval personnel of many countries.
The Naval French Cutlass has a handsome solid brass hilt which is polished to perfection.
Also, it has a comfortable grip and is safely guarded with brass wires for hand protection.
The tempered high carbon steel blade has a length of 26 inches, thickness of 3/16 inch, and the width of 1 1/4 inches at the midpoint.
Accompanying the sword is a beautiful leather and solid brass scabbard which weighs 9 ounces.
