The Naval Cutlass was used for attack and defense in boarding and taking possession of an enemy ship.
The Cutlass was a short slashing sword, ideal for the close-quarters battles aboard warships.
Generally regarded as a pirate weapon, the cutlass was actually issued to the Naval personnel of many countries.
The French Naval Cutlass has a highly polished brass hilt.
The tempered high carbon steel blade has a length of 26 1/2 inches (67.3 cm), thickness of 3/16 inch
(4.8 mm), and the width of 1 1/4 inches (31 cm) at the midpoint.
The blade can be custom engraved with up to three lines of text.

This French Naval Cutlass measures 32 inches (81 cm) overall and weighs 2 1/2 pounds (1.13 kg).
Accompanying the sword is a beautiful leather and solid brass scabbard which weighs 9 ounces (255 grams).
This cutlass comes with an unsharpened blade, however you can easily sharpen the blade yourself.
