The solid brass Polished Standard Pocket Compass is a larger version of our Medium Pocket Compass but smaller than our Large Pocket Compass.
Like the Large Key Chain Compass, it has a small lever on the side of the compass that
operates a needle lift mechanism to protect the compass bearing. This compass is 2 inches (5 cm) in diameter, 5/8 inch (2 cm) thick, and weighs 2.8 ounces (79 grams). The Polished Standard Pocket Compass is available either marked "Stanley London" on the lid, or plain with no engraving. We also offer the Standard Pocket Compass with a brushed brass finish instead of the mirror-like finish.
Each version can be engraved on the outside of the lid, or the inside of the lid with 18 words of text. The back of all three versions can be engraved with 28 words of your personalized inscription.
We offer two solid brass pocket compass chains as an option for your compass.
These chains are specially made to be non-magnetic and will not effect the accuracy of your compass.
Each has a clasp on one end that attaches to the fob on the pocket compass, and the other end can be attached to your pocket, belt, or button hole.
There are two different gold plated chains designed to compliment a polished brass pocket compass:
The Gold Plated Light Pocket Compass Chain is 14 3/4 inches (37.5 cm) overall, weighs 0.5 ounces (14 grams), and costs $9.40;
The Gold Plated Heavy Pocket Compass Chain has larger links and is 14 inches (35.5 cm) overall, weighs 1.1 ounces (31 grams), and costs $10.50.
We offer a small hardwood case which features a handsome hand inlaid compass rose as well as a plain hardwood storage box for displaying and protecting your compass.
Each compass rose is unique and will have slight variations since they will be inlaid using similar hand tools to those used 200 years ago.

The Small Plain Hardwood Storage Case sells for $12.95.
An optional dark leather case is available for $10.00.
