This Stanley London® Scouting Pocket Compass is a highly polished solid brass compass with a hinged lid.
This compass is excellent for camping and outdoor use, and makes a perfect compass for a Cub Scout or a Boy Scout.
The compass is the size of a standard pocket watch, measuring slightly over 1 3/4 inches
(4.5 cm) in diameter, 5/8 inch (1.6 cm) thick, and weighs 1.68 ounces (47.6 grams).
The case is stamped from thick solid brass.
The compass needle is accurate, quick and responsive.
The front, back, and / or inside lid of the Scouting Compass can be custom engraved with
your personalized inscription.
The front and back of the compass can each be engraved with a maximum of 36 words and the inside lid can hold a maximum of 25 words.
We offer two solid brass pocket compass chains as an option for your compass.
These chains are specially made to be non-magnetic and will not effect the accuracy of your compass.
Each has a clasp on one end that attaches to the fob on the pocket compass, and the other end can be attached to your pocket, belt, or button hole.
The Gold Plated Light Pocket Compass Chain is 14 3/4 inches (37.5 cm) overall, weighs 0.5 ounces (14 grams), and costs $9.40;
The Gold Plated Heavy Pocket Compass Chain has larger links and is 14 inches (35.5 cm) overall, weighs 1.1 ounces (31 grams), and costs $10.50.
We offer a small hardwood case which features a handsome hand inlaid compass rose as well as a plain hardwood storage box for displaying and protecting your compass.
Each compass rose is unique and will have slight variations since they will be inlaid using similar
hand tools to those used 200 years ago.

The Small Plain Hardwood Storage Case sells for $12.95.
An optional dark leather case is available for $10.00.
